SearchTempest Scavenger Hunts!
We love all the wonderful people who use SearchTempest. To show our appreciation, we're going to be giving out prizes by holding SearchTempest Scavenger Hunts!
Every month, we'll be posting a category for the Scavenger hunt, like "The coolest ______" or "The weirdest _____" and then you guys post eBay ads that fit that category to our Facebook page, and people vote for their favorites. Note that the hunt is just for the ad, you don't need to go and buy the actual item.
Prizes will vary every month, and will be given to the person who posts the ad that the Tempest Staff deems to be the best and a random "liker" to reward their participation!
Here's how you participate:
- Go to our Facebook Page and see what this month's scavenger hunt category is.
- Head over to SearchTempest, or just straight to eBay, and start looking for ads that fit that category! Search different locations, different categories... try different search options to see if you can find the ad that's just right for this category.
- Go back to our Facebook page, find the post with this month's category. Post the title of the ad along with a link to it.
- And that's it! You're entered! Be sure to share the post on Facebook and get your friends involved too!
Here's a little more about the rules:
- You must be a resident of the USA to play.
- Only ONE submission per person (but you can Like as many as you want).
- The post must have a link to the original ad. If it doesn't, your submission will be removed.
- Faked entries will result in disqualification from this and all future scavenger hunts.
- This game is in no way sponsored by Facebook or eBay.
- You are responsible for adhering to all applicable laws for your region.

Be mature, don't troll, don't spam, and don't try to beat the system. This is supposed to be fun, and people who take advantage of that will feel the wrath of the ban hammer. Everything is up to our discretion, and we're definitely not above blatant abuse of power. :-)
That's right, we reserve the right to change any of these rules, and to modify how prizes are awarded at any time. We would do so if we deemed it necessary to preserve fairness or to comply with applicable laws or regulations. By participating, you agree to release and hold us harmless from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the scavenger hunt or receipt or use of any prize. Whew.
- IMPORTANT: Make sure to check the Facebook page on the date that we say we'll be revealing the winners and MESSAGE US about receiving a prize if you've won, since Facebook doesn't let us contact you directly.

UPDATE: Originally the idea was for the Scavenger Hunt to be a search for craigslist ads, but Craig's lawyers quickly let us know they weren't interested in that. So now it's an eBay hunt. Don't worry, there's plenty of wacky stuff for sale on eBay to keep us entertained!
